I suppose I can buff my ego and call my pottery "Award Winning", but what I strive to do is produce the best work my skills, research and experience allow me to do. I am constantly looking at what makes some pottery exceptional and what elements speak to me from those pots. Then I try to take those impressions and translate it to the pottery I make, but keeping true to my own aesthetic expression. This allows me the opportunity to grow and improve my craft and design.
Sure, I am proud of being recognized, but what it really means to me that I am doing something right and others are recognizing it. And, hey, that red ribbon sure is pretty isn't it? I like blue too....keep on striving.
